So about me and my chickens;
Well I lived in the suburbs until about 2 years ago when we re-located to rural Victoria.
It was a big change but I dont think I could ever go back.
The first thing I noticed in my new backyard was a huge old chook house. It has "Chicks Only" written on the door which I thought was adorable. It stayed dormant for quite a while as we got settled, but we were always on the lookout for cheep chickens.
The moment came when we found a lady selling 2 week old chicks for 10 bucks each. We bought 2 white leghorns, 2 black australops, and 1 isa brown.
Unfortunately after they were fully grown and we frist started letting them rome around the isa brown dissapared. Shortly after one of the leghorns fell sick and die two days later.
But good news the other three are still with us doing well =) we even had one of the australops hatch two babies for us.
At the moment we have the three survivers, 2 isa browns from a friend, one of the babies that was hatched (she ended up a he) and a bantam rooster from one of my co-workers.
I rambled sorry -.-
but yeah, thats me and my chickens. =)
sorry about spelling and typos =/
