I am not a chicken owner but I have a flock that roams my neighborhood .. this morning two roosters got into it and one is now stuck in a corner of my yard and I need to get it out. Will it come out on its own? I have chased the other rooster away and am worried this guy will not be able to rescue himself. Any suggestions? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

He may eventually try to come out but this is clearly a sign of some bad aggression. This bird may be hurt too. If you can get the bird out, you might give it some attention, an over all exam and some water. You might find the owners of this bird and make sure he gets taken care of properly. Roosters that fight terribly should not be kept together as eventually one can be killed. This one clearly needs a nice quiet home by himself.

Good luck and welcome to our flock!

Thanks but these are free roaming chickens.. i have seen about 5 hens and now have a total of 3 roosters.. this one got himself out and i blocked the area so it wont happen again. He seems to be ok..walking around in my yard.. one hen has 5 babies so now my neighborhood will have even more chickens.. I can't complain to anyone because I'm not within the city limits which has passed an ordinance that banned roosters and allow only 8 hens as long as they are kept properly and 10' away from adjoining properties..

He and the other chickens are NOT very friendly at all and I am the type of person that won't be attacked more than once by any animal. lol I try to talk to them ect and they don't want anything to do with me. some of the chicks are adorable in coloring will try and get pictures and post them of the flock..:)

Thanks.. you would think that after growing up in Miami and having neighbors with chickens I'd know a lot about them..but I don't. Would like to learn how to be "neighborly" to this flock :)
