Hi. I am a new member. I've been devouring a much info as I can on this site. I do not have my chickens yet. I like to be very thorough about researching things before I jump in. I've got small kids, so finding a friendly breed is important. We would also like to have some eggs, so I have been focusing on large fowl as opposed to bantams. I live on the burbs north of Boston, so I plan on having a very small flock. I've been thinking one buff Orpington, one ameraucana, and a Cochin (even though they are mediocre layers). I was also considering the black copper maran. Anyways glad to be here and hi.
