Hi there,

Just joined last night, I have been browsing the forums for a couple days now. Decided I'd like to post some stuff and chat with folks on here.

I have been around lots of chickens growing up. All I can remember from those days was trying to collect eggs was a chore I had, but a what really made it difficult at the age of 5, was a rooster who I swear was as big as I was.

Now with a family of my own, I had some of them about 2 years ago, the egg production was great.

Then I moved and left those with a neighbor who had a large flock. Recently though I came across some fertile eggs from a co-worker and decided to hatch them out and have another small group of them again.

So I will post post here my new adventures and collect ideas and info from the forums.

That's what's nice about chickens.....you can always take a break and start again one day......What breed are you hatching?

Judging by the egg color I'd agree with them being marans, but 2 of the seven that hatched out sure don't look like marans, they look like easter eggers.

So look for my post over there soon, I took some pretty good pics I think. Now that I mention egg color I might take a pic of the eggs too. I've been getting a bunch from the same guy and they are yummy to eat as well.
