Hi! I'm 17 years old and live in Manitoba. I've owned farm critters for approx 7-9 years now. Chickens, ducks , geese, turkeys , goats , horses ,rabbits, pigeons and a donkey. I've dealt with just about all the ups and downs involving poultry. For example : being able to witness goslings hatch under a goose. And sadly having to put down 30+ chickens due to an incurable respiratory illness.

I've had to find most of my animals new homes. I currently have 3 geese , 2 cats ,1 chicken and 2 dogs. I will be moving into the city after I graduate. So have to find my geese new homes . I will be keeping my chicken. Her name is Edna I'm guessing she's around 2-3 years old. She lays blue eggs!

I think she has Brahma and Easter Egger in her. I hope to also get a Muscovy hen and keep it as a pet. I plan on purchasing bird diapers for them lol. So they don't have to be confined to a cage.

I look forward to being on this forum again! Question out of curiosity how many members are on this forum?

Sorry you have to find new homes for your animals, but it's nice you can take Edna with you. Here's the link to the Canada thread drumstick diva referred to if you'd like to 'meet' other Canadians on BYC: post #1

According to the site stats, there are 438,847 members. And of course, there are a lot of non-member visitors to the site every day as well.

Good luck with your move and congrats on graduating!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
