We have 4 hens, and they are all over the age of 6. I started a hen notebook so I could keep track of their names, dates of birth, and things I learn here. I hope they live for many years to come. They are so much fun to stroll around with in the fenced backyard... to the point of it makes me want to weed. They get up close while Im kneeling to look for bugs and worms right before my eyes, so these are some pretty tame birds for my not having raised them from chicks. I and my DH live just outside Winston-Salem. We are looking for someone selling eggs close by, as our have begun to molt. We have 3 Americaunas and 1 R.I. Red. Thanks and happy chickening!

I see that you have been a member for a while now and I hope you enjoy becoming more active. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello. They may be able to assist with your search for eggs.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
