Hello! My name is April. I'm a college student, majoring in Biology and *hopefully* going to vet school in 2 years when I complete this degree. After months of researching and trying to decide between ordering chicks from a hatchery or buying from a breeder, I finally purchased my first chickens over the weekend. Initially I traded a lady two mottled Cochin Bantams for a rabbit (which I breed and show). Then at her encouragement I went INSIDE the show where I bought a trio of showable Old English Bantams. I am in love! If I had the space, I can think of about four or five more breeds I want. I got bantams because they're so cute and we will be eating any eggs (I know, they're tiny).
In addition to the chickens I have a zoo going on here. I have a herd of show rabbits, fancy rats, 2 pet snakes, and a "livestock" dog named Shuckie.
