I've been a lurker for several years now, gaining all kinds of knowledge for my chicken babies, but because of a serious injury of my polish hen, I went ahead and joined your forum today.
I actually got into raising chickens after having to quit my full time employment years ago because of multiple sclerosis. Hubby got me 2 hens and a painting set, and me and the girls got to work. This was to be my "therapy" - lol
I'm now the proud mama of over 9 breeds, and 80 chickens. Also, 2 geese and a turkey. I'm the full time folk artist, and the babies are my inspirations and biggest critics. I credit them with my health problems staying at bay, they really are great pets.
Glad to be here!
