I've been "pecking" around your website and can't believe all the great information I've found!
I grew up with chickens (among other animals) on a small farm and have always wanted to have my own. So after being married for 22 years and having 4 kids, I figured now would be a great time to get a few! We built a chicken tractor out of some scrap lumber we had laying around, found someone selling 5 wk old chicks, and went and bought 3. I figured having the chicks a little older would be better around young boys (3yr, 5 yr, and 11yr old). The chicks are a cross between a black copper maran and a plymouth rock barred.
So now our little "circus" consists of:
Me, my husband, 3 sons still at home, 1 daughter, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 9 turtles, and 3 chickens.
