In March I got my first chickens--14 Araucanas. They were so much fun I decided that I would like some rare breed birds to breed and some geese to help with guarding the flock who are free-range during the day. So in April I put in an order for the above along with some dual purpose chickens. Well, I changed my mind about what to get and canceled the order and placed a new one. When my chicks arrived at the post office they handed me TWO boxes not one. My first order never got canceled!
I now have 6 African geese, 8 Rouen ducks, 3 Narraganset Turkeys, 19 Araucanas, 6 Plymouth Rocks, 6 Spitzhaubens, 2 Polish, 2 Mottled Houdans, 1 Cochin, 2 Buttercups, 2 Dark Cornish, and 26 Golden Comets! Except for the original hens, all of the above are 5 weeks old and hungry!
Now if someone could just tell me how to figure out which ones are roosters before I end up with more birds!
