Hi Everyone,
First want to say thank you for all the help i gotten from reading this site.
Little info about me.....We have a 21 acre farm in Ky. wife and i are wanting try more self sustainability so we decided to try our own eggs first. Seems a little easier than Cows....LOL.
We decided to do Chick days from TSC. Before then we found this website and did a little research to get a little more prepared and start think about Coop design and set up. What all are we going to need and how to take care of them. This website is the Bomb when it comes to info and preparation!!!
We brought home 7 chicks in March. Time for the bad part.......while we were letting them out one afternoon a fox got all 7 of them.......went inside for a few minutes to grab something.........never seen a fox on my property in the past 5 years.
Anyway, so we are starting over again and now have 6 more Chickens around first of May. We have really enjoyed taking care of them and learning about them. They are so funny to watch. My favorite thing to do so far is try out the different Treats this website recommends but, i think my favorite part will be when we get our first egg!!!
Thanks again for the tips and info on here!!! Any questions please let me know!!!
James
