Hi to all dedicated incubators and chicken & quail keepers, it seems like a fine art as I am slowly discovering (building my own incubator) never done this before! it's challenging because like everyone else ..I guess we all want a "perfect" hatch! haha... I have 10 japanese quail and 4 king quail, but now it's getting colder here in Melbourne so not as many eggs. But before I even begin to place some eggs in my incubator it seems I've gotten lost from the start... WhY?? Because?

I am not skilled in blogging or posting notes, 1/2 the problem would be my titles are NOT IN "BOLD" so sometimes I got no replies... sob sob...

I really look forward to starting a "covey" of quail..!! yeah I just learned that word "covey" means group of quail... I would have never figured! hehe... Anyway thanks to some support in here I managed to learn how to upload photos "yippee" cause my incubator is very unique and took me a long time to build even though it can only hold 4 -5 doz quail eggs.. it was Fun to make...

It seems there are a lot of friendly & helpful people in these forums which of course I appreciate friendly good helpful advice... yeahhh, thankyou good peoples... hehe, but I am really REALLY Waiting on "1" question before I begin my first EVER Batch of Quail Eggs... hope someone helps me... it's About the FAN, Which is a better setup? A. External Fan with a hole into incubator OR; B. An Internal Fan in incubator... Please help, any advice & greets are welcome...

Cheers all you guys n gals & goodluck to everyone

from Ohio. So glad you joined. I would go with the internal fan. You want to keep the bator stable at all time. Having an external fan will bring in different temps and humidity to the inside of the bator and keep it unstable. Good Luck.
