Hi from middle Tennessee

Looking to get some chickens to go with the rest of our menagerie. I've been reading up on the best breed for our climate, and ones that will work with our situation. I'm in Giles country - anyone nearby? I also have several dogs that will need to learn to live with chickens. I don't plan to free roam them until the dogs are very accustomed to having them around. I'd like to buy older chicks instead of hatchlings. Is there anyplace in middle TN I could find them? The coop and TSC chick days are over, as far as I know. I'll probably buy some from the 4-H chick chain, but that won't be until August.
