Thank you so much for this wonderful information. When you say to adjust the humidity levels based on weight loss please can you explain further.
I have a brooder that will turn the eggs as I work 2 days a week and would not be able to turn them on those days. (I am out of the house for 10 hours). The incubator is a brinsea ovation 28.
So Calls generally lose around 13% of their started weight from day one to hatch (day 26), so get the number of the loss weight and that will be your goal by the end of incubation. If my egg weighed 45 grams, my goal would be to have it at, 39 grams. You could also go ahead and make a chart of 13% weight loss of such and such number over a 26 day period. That way you can weigh weekly to see if you're on track as far as the humidity levels go. In the case that your humidity has been too high, the egg would be losing more weight then ideal, if the humidity has been too low the weight loss would be greater then ideal.
You can also go by the Aircell size, but it's not as accurate as this. I really recommend doing this for first-time hatcher so they can see whats the right humidity in their area.
