HI - Just an intro.... I've had my chick a little over a year and LOVE them :) I got my first rooster about 6 months ago, really didn't want one... but now I get to hatch my own eggs :) I bought a little incubator from ebay , collected eggs waiting on its arrival, set it up, installed a fan and through my eggs in ... didn't wait to get thing right... I'm impatient :( didn't expect any good results... but when I candled them out of 38 I had 29 growing!! I was amazed! Now its hatch time and I'm NOT good at this... toooooo impatient.... and my chicks are SLOW to hatch... but... so far 8 are in the brooder... one I think is stuck i may help tonight... one just pipped and three are waiting :) (two died in their egg I probably did it :( Then next week I have 13 duck eggs I'm hoping will hatch :)

I'm just amazed it really worked.... I was totally not expecting any to grow and here I have 10 live chicks so far :) I'm soooo excited ... can't wait to do it again :) Next time I'll just leave them alone and not open it a million times... yes I'm guilty... sorry I just love to check on them <3

hi I am new to chickens we live near Butte. this spring I got an incubator from craigslist a GQF it will hold abouy 250 eggs I hatched 6 from 24 a backyard mix then my daughter bought RIRs and I got a few white jersey giants. I would like to expand to a few turkeys next year. I have a million questions cuz I have never done this before. every day i try to decide who is a hen and who is a rooster I guess time will tell. hope to talk to you soon :)
