hello everyone
If I haven't said it already Happy New Year. I had a wonderful time, met some new people and learned more about this country living. I've had some heartbreaking moments too.... Someone came in and cut my coop fencing letting all the chickens out . I gathered most of them up again so that's ok but why would anyone do such a thing?. The coop wire was a heavy duty type that Alex had come up with so it would have needed a strong pair of cutters to get through. Plus they have cut several times at random from top to bottom ruining the lengths of fencing. Unreal!.. I'm over it of course but it set me back a bit as I must admit to getting home sick over the holidays, you know how it can be, and the coop cutting was like a slap in the face. Just when I thought I was getting on top of it all. Next post on my blog I'm going to put up some photos of the work that needs doing around the place ..... it's not totally a South Sea Island Paradise. Part of me is sad that I'm at such a distance from home to be able to share all this with my friends back there and the other part is glad. Setbacks like this could make me run for it. BUT I'm made of sterner stuff!!
It's just the feeling.... like I've been burgled....
Talk soon
Joanna.
That just sounds so malicious! My first thought was, it was someone who's been gathering eggs from the hens where they were freeranging? Still, it's so hard to understand, that's only grasping at thoughts though... and really it doesn't matter too much.
I think if I was so new, and somewhat of an outsider too... I might go talk to some long time residents who might have some ideas about it. I don't know the local situation with the police there, and maybe you need to report it right away, or maybe it's best to consult someone in the neighborhood who knows all the locals and might have an idea about what's best to do.
It sounds like people have been very warm to you for the most part and there might be something locally going on. I know what I'd do here in the states, but I've traveled a little, and I say that since you are a n00b there, I say ask some questions first, (some here may criticize this advice, but it's just my personal opinion).
