Hello All,
I am new to the chicken ownership game. In fact, I had never seen a live chicken up close before 2 weeks ago. My children went to the Poultry Show and came home with three 6 week old Silkies. I have learned so much on this website. I am so glad I found it. Here they are with Titan, our Mini Poodle.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. You may like to check out the "Silkie thread," to learn more about the breed. Just put that in the search box and it will pop up for you. You can do the same to find your state thread.

Silkies are kid favorites and very popular however they can't be accurately sexed before 4-5 mos. of age and sometimes not till they crow or lay eggs.
