Hello!
First off - no relation whatsoever to Horsefeathers.
My family had several flocks when we were growing up (on a dairy farm) but it has been years since I've had responsibility for hens. But now I'm in the process of buying my own house, and I'd like to have some "livestock" as well as a garden.
I don't have any chickens yet - I'm still trying to figure out how to house them, etc, so that I do this right. I have figured out that the city lets you keep up to 10 hens, no roosters. I'd like to keep 'Easter Eggers' and perhaps some Marans, as I get a kick out of the colored eggs.
I found this forum through looking for chick and equipment providers - it is a very friendly and useful site!
Other critters include a dog and two cats.
I'm looking forward to looking around and learning what I can!
