Hi My friends Call me Red,


I am brand new to chickens. I am picking up my chicks tomorrow. I live in Northern Nevada and I am super excited to have my first chickens.

I will be getting five chickens to start. I am looking at Rhode Island Reds and Ameraucanas.

First, I love chickens. I have been around them since I was a little girl. I work with horses and they are always around the barns. I am looking forward to having my own fresh eggs.

We just recently in 2018 acquired 11 acres and so I am hiking more. I have rescue dogs. I ride horses and am going to be bringing two rescues horses home in 2019. I love the outdoors and the quiet.

My world is God, Family, Friends and my animals. I love the outdoors, sitting on my deck with friends and a glass of wine, reading a good book and hanging with my grand kids.

I found BYC through friends and I love the information, community and all the great articles.

Any suggestions for good breeds for Reno, NV?
