Hi Everyone,
I live in St Andrews West Ontario which is about an hour east of Ottawa (Canada's Capital)
I am 30 years old and married to a wonderful guy for the last 10 years (we have been together since just before we were 17) We have 3 wonderful kids DS1 (10), DD (7) and DS2 (5). I also have 2 horses that I keep at a friends house after last October (PM me if you want the very sad background story on why they are not at a family farm). 2 dogs and 2 cats.
We as in DH and I have a small country house at the moment but at looking to sell and get a small hobby farm next year so I can pursue my dreams of running a horse boarding facility.
The whole chicken thing was tossed around when the hobby farm was brought up and then when we crossed the US Boarder this passed Saturday the kids seen the baby chicks and lets face it how can you say NO. Well we did but that is because we knew we would not be able to cross back home with them.
When we got home DS1 (who just turned 10) hopped online and started to do research as he really wanted one. I would have agreed and said yes (we have about a half an acre) but DH said NO WAY not till we move. SO it is set when we move we will get the chicks but from now till then I get to learn and start plans for a dream coop with my oldest DS.
This website has been very helpful so far and I cant wait to learn more.
