I am not exactly new, have mostly lurked for a while though, and have never formerly introduced myself- so here goes...
I am Jen, and live in Corvallis Oregon- smack dab in the heart of the Willamette Valley. I have kind of dabbled here and there with chickens for hte last few years, but have been increasingly intereste in them lately. I have 8 mixed breed laying hens, and 3 newly hatched barred rock pullets currently, and i just this morning ordered a "Hatchery Surprise" from Cackle. We own a small 3 acre hobby farm, and I run a preschool/childcare in my home. My chicken coop is currently an 8X10 section of our small barn, with an attached 10X10 run off of it. I have the materials now to expand the inside coop to 24X10 and the outside run will be expanded to a 10X30. I also let them out every evening to free range our pastures and our manure pile... I am looking forward to sharing more with you guys, and getting bitten by more chicken bugs!
