Hi Everyone, I've been lurking for a few months & finally got my chicks in the mail so I had to sign up for all the help I'll probably be needing. I'm a city girl from Philly who now lives in Puerto Rico & I don't know anything at all about what I'm going to be doing. After the hurricane, we decided to plant lots of stuff ( I'm a vegan) & get a few chickens for eggs(not meat) for the rest of the family. So while searching online for hatcheries, I found your site. I placed 2 orders, 1 from Cackle & the other from Welp. So I ended up with several Columbian Wyandottes for the eggs & a whole bunch of cute little bantams just to look at. The list of Bantams: Sebrights in lots of colors, golden & porcelain D'uccles, varied Cochins, varied Ameraucanas, Belgian Quails, self blue Old English,varied Silkies, & varied Kirikikis(sp?) that we got locally.The total is 93 chicks. I think I'm way over my head but my hubby will take over once they're big enough to be outside so I hope I can make it.

Welcome from New Orleans, hope things go well for your family and chickens. The eggs may be a good thing to barter with for other things you may want or need, or just another way you can help others who are less fortunate!
