Hi,

I’m new here. From Western Cape in South Africa.
I started with 3 Lohmann Brown hens which we got at 2 weeks old. They are now 12 weeks old. And we recently added 3 more aged between 14 & 16 weeks. 1 Boschvelder, one Potchefstroom Koekkoek and 1 Rhode Island Red (I have my doubts?)

my dad had chickens when we were kids
got my first 3, 3 months ago, added 3 more recently

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 hens, no roo’s

(3) What breeds do you have?
3 Lehman Brown
1 Boschvelder
1 Potchefstroom Koekkoek
1 Rhodesia Island Red(we were told?)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
just love animals, all animals except spiders

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
gerdening
crochet

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married for over 20 years, 2 son 17 &19
1 Cat, the boss
1 German Shepard
1 Great Dane
3 cockatiels

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
