Hi all. I am a newbie here who is hoping to get a few chickens going in my backyard this spring. We will be doing this in full violation of local zoning laws but my backyard is fully fenced and can't be seen from the street so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!!

from Indiana. I would suggest either buying from a hatchery that does small orders of sexed chicks or buying older pullets of which the sex is apparent. That way you won't end up w/roos that even a privacy fence won't keep private
