My mom bought our chickens around 2016 or 2017. We’ve had many breeds before (Wyandottes, orpingtons, ameraucanas) but we currently just have salmon faverolles. There are 6 hens, two roosters, and 10 chicks running around (not sure of the sex of all of them yet).

My favorite aspect of chicken raising is the chicks. I love hatching them, watching them grow, and seeing the individual variations of them as adults. The eggs and meat are a plus too

I also have 8 Nigerian Dwarf Goats (6 does, 1 buck, 1 neutered male) and 8 Toulouse geese (a mated pair and their 6 goslings)

I’m hoping to one day add black copper maran hens to the flock, and I’m also looking into different breeds of guineafowl
