I want to start out by saying that I have a traumatic brain injury so I do have issues at times with not remember things I might have asked already, spelling, and sometimes my posts might be confusing in how they are typed. I am sorry ahead of time for that.
I am in normally beautiful but now extremely smokey Southern Oregon. We have a 26 acre ranch here. We is my mom and I.
We have 10 horses, 7 dogs, a million cats, now I believe 14 ducks (we have 7 two week old babies),
And we are now at 9 chickens since two recently passed away. We have a 4h equestrian club with 10 members.
many of our animals are rescues we have saved. We used to raise Kiger Mustangs but now we no longer breed we just own and love.
So ill try to do a general q & a off of the one suggested.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have had many chickens over the last 27 years, Normally they come from people who can no longer keep them and we take them so they have a place to go.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
right now we have 9
(3) What breeds do you have?
well not really sure I can post pictures, two we believe are araconas? we get nice little teal eggs from them. We had 3 but now 2 that we think are New Hampshires, and then the rest are similar to the Catalinas?
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
We found it awhile back on a web search
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
horses, hunting, fishing, 4h, photography, and lots of other stuff
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
not much to say really life has changed hugely and now just trying to make it as best I can.
Basically I am hoping to find others who I can talk to about the chickens and get ideas and support and stuff.
