(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? -- Hi there! We are definitely new to chickens and are hoping to get our first ones in a few weeks.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? - None. But we're waiting for the local feed store to get in Buff Orpingtons...then we'll get 3.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? -- Was searching on facebook and found the facebook page then came here. My new favorite page!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? -- gardening, cooking, reading, and soon to be raising goats also.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. -- Our only child is allergic to cats and dogs, so we moved to where we could have goats and chickens! I grew up with goats but know nothing about having feathered friends. Looking for lots of help here!

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
