Hello all,
Just joining in on the forum as I have recently gotten really into poultry with my parents. We have had chickens for about 8 years now (my parents grew up on farms) on my parents hobby farm, but we have just gone off the deep end into rare breed poultry! It is just addicting. I am now looking into buying my own incubator, to hatch some of our hopefull purebred eggs next spring. Hope to have light sussex, Blue Laced Red Wyandotes, blue orpingtons, wheaten marans, black copper marans, barnevelder, americauna's, and maybe australorps. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it! At the moment we are busy building chicken tractors to keep all of our beautiful birds segregated once they mature. At present, they are between 1 week and 6 weeks and are being brooded according to age ranges.
Looking forward to the wealth of information here! Thanks!
