Hi! Believe it or not there is more to New York then NYC.... I live on 21 acres wooded acres. My husband and I started with dogs and cats then he brought home a lost mallard chick. From there we have had many more ducks, rabbits, ringneck and red golden pheasants, bobwhite quail, geese, chickens, and a goat. Oh..... and a son and daughter who are now grown and off on their own.
I noticed that weasels are not listed as predators. Well a year ago the week before Christmas I lost 2 hens and a roo to one in the middle of the day!! I was able to trap it after about a week.
I'm looking forward to building a new chicken coop that will be rat, squirrel, weasel, dog proof before I get my new chicks in May. I've already gotten many good ideas from BYC and look forward to more!
