Hi everyone - I'm new to BYC and chicken ownership. In fact, I don't have any chickens yet, but have ordered 5 day-old chicks to arrive the first week of June. In the meantime, I have lots of things to do to get ready! Right now, I'm working on designing and building a coop, so all the pictures and information people have posted about how they designed and built their coops is fantastic! Some of the coops are so creative. Can't wait to get started on mine:)

Welcome to BYC. I'm so glad to hear you are spending time getting ready for your chicks. Their chance of survival depends on your preparation. Be sure to test your brooder with a heat lamp before you pick them up to be sure it stays consistently at the proper temperature. I'm sure you will have good luck with your new brood. Wishing you the best!
