I have lurked here off and on for several years. Finally took the plunge and bought chicks from cacklehatchery. I got all female, supposedly, 7 barred rocks, 5 red splash wyandottes and 5 black silver lace wyandottes. They are a couple weeks old.

I did have a question. I think something is wrong with one of the chicks. I noticed last night that it was hiding under the plate heater. This morning I checked again and it wouldnt move when I touched it. So I put it and another chick (for company) in a separate bin and then examined it. Vent clear, crop empty eyes clear and alert. But still just sitting there. I made a mix of weak green tea, electrolytes, egg yolk and rescue drops, and fed it with a dropper. At first it wouldnt take it, but then gobbled it up. Did that every 30 minutes, then tried to offer food, but it wouldnt touch it. Wet the food and still wouldnt touch it. Then grabbed some clover from outside and it went crazy trying to eat it. I put it back in the bin and then dh noticed it moving around. It looks like something is wrong with its foot. She seems to be leaning and stumbling when she walks. She is flapping her wings and grooming herself. I looked closely at her feet and didnt notice anything unusual. When I touched her feet, she didnt react like it hurt or anything. Is it possible she twisted her leg? For the last few days the chicks have been flying on top of the water and feed, and on top of the plate heater too (but I have cardboard and a box on top so they wont burn themselves.

Any ideas?
