We bought 2 acres of land last year and have been interested in doing minor homesteading. For valentines day I brought my husband home our first 5 barred rock chickens. We fell in love with these little girls. They are sweet and cuddly.
Since Valentines day our flock has grown to eleven hens and one rooster.
Of course since we are new to backyard chickening we ran to the web and the library for more info and tips. Just about every topic we would search about would land us on the backyard chickens website.
Along with Chickening we have an ever growing vegetable and fruit garden. We also hope to get some goats and a horse in the next few years. I'm a Professional Photographer as well so the chickens provide hours of picture practice for me
We have 3 kids, a four year old boy and two nine year old stepsisters. A og who hides in his kennel all day. a twenty five year old cockatiel, and multiple saltwater fish.
