Hi everyone.....
Today is my first day as a chick-n-momma and I love them already. I have 6 little ones. I posted already on a different topic and would like to thank everyone who responded so quickly! I am, however, still confused...... The chicks all fine but I do not know what breed i have. The store said they are Gold Comet x3 and Tetra Tint x3. Someone on my other post said they are Sex Link. I cannot find info on these breeds anywhere! What does all this mean?????

I will go and find your post and see if I am any help with you trying to find out the breed of chicken you have. Glad you joined!

Sex links just mean it is a mix of two different breeds.

Reds will be a cross between many different breeds. Could be white rock hen and new hampshire roo to produce Golden Comet. SLW hen and NH roo creates the Cinnamon Queen. Ones that are simply called Red Sex Links are a result of two other crosses. One being RIW with RIR. The other being Delaware and PR.

Black sex lined is a result of a cross between A barred rock hen and either a RIR or NHR.

Its all weird how they explain this. But pretty simply put you have a cross breed. They are good chickens who where breed for hardiness and egg laying. Congrats on the new babies.
