Thought I'd finally join in, as I've been lurking for almost a year!! Learned soooo much from this forum - this time last year the thought of raising chicken was just floating around in my head. Today I have 4 - 7 wk old hens (allegedly/hopefully) asleep in my kitchen .... THANKS BYC

HI!!! I'm a new egg too. I have 8 RIR's that are now about 12 weeks old and have raised them since they were about a day old... so far so good!!

Hope you are having as much with yours as I have with mine!!
 
I'm a brand new chicken mama, as of about 4 hours ago...whew!

I have been reading everything on this site for the last month as we prepared to be chickie parents, and now, we are proud to welcome 4 lovely girls to their new backyard coop:) I can't wait to see them grow. They are 10 weeks, said the lady who sold them to us, and 4 different breeds: Ameraucana, Buff Orpington, Sexlink, and Barred Rock. Cute!
