Hi,
My name is Sara and I recently moved to York Springs, PA and now I can have my chickens!! YAY! I've been doing a lot of research on taking care of chickens. I don't have any yet, but I would like to get some in the spring and I'm trying to become more educated about them.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I'm new. It's always been a dream of mine to raise my own chickens. I don't have any chickens yet.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None yet, hopefully in the spring.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I've been looking at the brown egg layers. I would like either golden sex links or golden comets (Maybe they are the same?). I love the look of brown eggs and we eat a lot of them.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Researching on the internet.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love photography, crocheting, baking, and general crafting.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my fiance, my English cocker spaniel and my American cocker spaniel. I also have 110 gallons of fish in my house too (Split between 4 tanks). I have really big fish and I enjoy taking care of the tanks. I am a Funeral Director and just moved to this area in October. I love the slower pace of life compared to the city and can finally have the chickens I've always been wanting.

Hello from Kansas, Sara, and

! Great to have you in our community! Yes, I think gold sex links and gold comets are the same thing. In fact, some people say gold sex links, gold comets, red stars, red sex links, and cinnamon queens are all the same bird. Others disagree with that. If you want to be REALLY confused read this https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...den-sex-link-golden-comet-red-star-same-breed
My thought....get what you want, call them what you want, treat them right and they'll treat you right! Good luck!
