I’m Cincins2 (Cindy for short). Easter of 2017, shortly after my husband and I were married, I asked a dumb question. At 57, I had never experienced getting a chick for Easter,my mother was afraid of anything that flew! I had lost my husband to cancer, and my new husband had lost his wife to cancer also. He looked at me and smiled and said, she hated chickens and wouldn’t let him get chickens either. So we had our first bonding project as a married couple!
We live near Indiana, PA, went to TSC and shopped for a coop and supplies. Got everything set up and asked around about farms and studied breeds. Went out and purchased our first 6 hens! Word got out and later that summer were blessed with 20 more hens to adopt Fromm a friend of a friend!
Presently we have 30 hens of mixed variety, 8 eggs in the incubator that are pipping, and my oldest Silkie decided to go broody and is sitting on 12 eggs in the coop!
I’m lovin being a Chicken Momma! Between my husband and I, we have 3 sons, 1 daughter, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 dogs, 1 barn cat and 1 new inside kitten! Such a house full!
I’m a retired nurse and my husband is a teacher.
