Hello everyone! Just here to introduce myself…. Again!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Not new, first got chickens in 2009.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Just 3 hens and more on the way!
(3) What breeds do you have? 2 Astralorp x Easter eggers, 1 polish, the new chicks coming are crested cream legbars and sapphire gems
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Sitting out back and watching Chicken tv
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Photography, makeup, gardening, house plants
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I’m a stay at home mom of 4, a 16 year old girl and 3 boys 4 and under! I’m going back to school next year for nursing, we have 2 dogs and 1 cat. All seniors!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I used to be a member many years ago! I went through a hard breakup in 2015 and had to give up my farm and all my animals including chickens turkeys ducks, horses, sheep. It was very hard! I moved to the city. After 8 years not having any we finally moved to a rental house at the edge of town and are able to have a small flock of hens! We got our 3 last September they just started laying and it’s been so healing to have them again and teaching my fiancé and my littles to care for them.
Really looking forward to connecting with everyone here again!! I enjoyed this forum so much.
