I have been a chickens and duck owner for several years, small flocks only. This spring was the first time I let my any of my females raise a brood of her own. I chose to allow my mallard hen and her mate (an Anacona). She hatched 12 duckings and they are all doing well.
We also own 9 chickens of different breeds ( 2 Silkie Roos, 2 buff orpington hens, 2 EE, 1 Wyandotte hen, 1 d’Anvers roo and 1 serama hen). We have various other pets also dog, cats, ferret, parrot, turtles, fish, and a snake. I’m excited to be a member thank you for letting me join.

. I do not know much about Ducks or the situation you have asked concerning the wild female ducks hanging out with your male at his enclosure. Sounds like you live near a river- perhaps in a rural area where you can't control how much activity your birds have with the wild birds - but I have always read that wild birds bring disease- so I would do my best to keep them at least away from his dwelling as much as possible,- Perhaps someone more familiar with ducks can jump on here and give you a better answer.
