Not a problem. just some advice. do you have your Coupe in setup yet ?here's how the timing usually works in the chicken world. in the Spring everybody hatches chicks because they know the chicks grow best hatched in the spring. during the summer they grow their chicks. come fall, which starts right about now, the Breeders start downsizing their flocks for overwintering so there's a lot of half-grown chicks on the market.
at this point in time, that is what you want to be looking at if you want to secure a flock this year. it's late in the year to be growing out chicks.
they won't be good winter layers and they will be smaller birds because chicks grew larger when they're hatched earlier in the year. so what you want to do is get your Coop and setup ready . pick out your breed(s)... and then look for breeders in your area that are downsizing their flocks for the winter. buy some half-grown birds from them .they should be good winter layers. next Spring, they will be old enough for you to hatch chicks with the rest of us. plus, since you're buying half-grown chicks , you are going to see exactly what you're getting. there aren't going to be any surprises or any deformed chicks to raise or anything like that. because the breeders of already done all the hard work and sorted that out .
so that's my advice for what it's worth. welcome to the wonderful world of chickens !! will be interested to see which breed you select.
Best ,
