Hello,
I am new to the group, and have 27 chicks that arrived around May 20th. Hoping to slim down to about 16-20, but hard to pick which ones I want to let go cause they all are fun to have. Also waiting to figure out how many roosters I ended up with :)! I am not completely new to chickens family and friends always had them but this is our first time being able to have them. Looking forward to trying new things and having lots of eggs!

wow thats a big group of chicks lol i think theres a way to figure out the sex by looking at the layers of the first set of feathers. one layer of feathers are boys, two layers are girls. but thats just what i have read and im not a professional :p Good Luck and hope they're not all roosters lol that would be funny.

It is a huge herd haha I need to slim down, so I can socialize them more. Hmm I'll have to look into that, I know there are ways to tell earlier so I am hoping to figure it out. They are all supposed to be pullets because I ordefed them that way but I got some breeds I didn't order and less of some I did so I'm guessing I might have more roosters in there then I planned for lol. Thankfully we live far out and have the space for lots of hens and roosters if we end up with them. :)

Welcome to Backyard chickens, your flock looks content, and seem to have lots of room. Good luck with them. Hope you got more pullets than cockerels.
