Greetings.

When my 6 year old daughter said she wanted to adopt two of the chicks from the school project of watching chicks hatch and raising them to 2 weeks i was dead against it. Chickens? Why do i want Chickens?

Cloud and Rainbow are now 5 months old and laying. Plus their chicken personalities shine through. They are funny, smart and a joy to have chasing me around the Yard. In short, I adore them. I want to learn more. I want to make sure our chickens live long happy lives. Plus i can no longer buy and eat chicken..Go figure!

PS i will post some pics of the brood..it will grown in the next few months and we'll need advice introducing more chickens to the flock.

Chickens do have a way of getting under your skin and into your heart, hey? I bought some on impulse years ago and before I knew it I couldn't eat chicken anymore and then came the house chickens and then I found BYC and others with chicken addictions and the rest as they say, is history. Enjoy the site!
