(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new, don't have yet, but after many hours, nights, days, years? dreaming and lurking on BYC and elsewhere on the interwebs and youtubes I believe I have it narrowed down to a handful of breeds that I plan to raise.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I can't say for sure yet, but I think mostly for the pleasure of it, and of course bug and waste control (can't put spoils down the septic.)
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
So many I've had to put on the back burner after a major life upheaval, but now that I have my farm some of the things I'll be getting back into or starting are: Aquascaping (Nature Aquariums), Bonsai, my 4-string Irish Banjo, painting, and miniatures.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've got two dogs that keep it live, a Jack Russel Mix and a Miniature Pinscher that bounce off the walls and would fly if they had wings. And soon 7 geese arriving in the next couple months.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Every time I search Google for chickens I end up here so I figured I may as well join
