Hey Y'all,
I have been coming to this website for advice on how to raise chickens. I acquired two rescue hens in 2014, and have since increased the flock. I now have a Buff orpington and a Barred Rock raised from chicks as well as one of the original Leghorn rescue hens. One, unfortunately, passed away from a prolapsed egg. I appreciate all of the great comments and feedback and look forward to learning more about this new lifestyle.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry you lost your Leghorn. It's always sad to lose one of our flock. Don't feel bad; very few BYC members are immune to chicken math. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

So sorry you lost a hen. It is never easy to lose them. But yes, chickens are addicting!! Just like potato chips, you can't have just one!
