I grew up on a farm but we didn't have chickens. I became a reluctant chicken owner when we bought my in-laws house about a year and a half ago. Everything was going great until 5 days ago when all but 2 of my 9 hens got killed by neighborhood dogs. I loved my girls and I am heartbroken. Now i want to learn all i can about being a responsible chicken mama.

Sorry to read of your loss, that's always difficult. Was the flock free ranging or in a coop/run when the attack happened?
