Hi i'm new here! we're going to be getting chickens pretty soon, and i just have a couple of questions:
*Where is the best place to buy supplies?
*Can someone draw up a list of what I need please?(thanks lol)
*I think I'll be getting chicks, Any advice?

BTW the Coop is 10'w x 12'l and the pen is
6'w x 12'l

is that big enough for 3-4 chicks?

Thanks!!!

I'll try to get pictures of the coop soon!

Oh heavens yes! That is plenty of room!

As for your supplies. You will need:
- heat lamp and bulb
- thermometer (Some people use one to check if the brooder temp. is right. I personally never do. I just let the chicks tell me by their behavior. If they are huddled under the heat lamp, they are to cold. If they are huddled away from the heat lamp, they are to hot. If they are scattered around the brooder, the temp. is just right!)
- feeder
- waterer
- plenty of paper towels for chicks to be on for the first week
- chick starter feed
- CHICKS!

Can't wait to see your coop!

There is a great deal of info. here on the site. Click on the Learning Center page and most everything you need will be found there. Just don't order chicks and then get everything. They grow fast and you must be prepared.

Good luck!

Did you say 10 FOOT X 12 FOOT? If that is the case OH YA you will have plenty of room for several chickens

I personally used a flood light and my chicks done just fine. Like gumps said look at how they act to see if they are to hot or to cold or just right. A good breed I believe fot starters is either Rhode Island Reds or Golden Comets. These both are good layers.

And BTW,
