Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa, I'm 18 years old, and I am new to the Backyard Chickens forum so I thought I'd better introduce myself and start getting involved. My mom and I started raising our own chickens last year. We have 4 Rhode Island Red hens (Mom's egg layers) and I have 2 Golden Sebrights and a Golden Laced Wyandotte bantam. I am hoping to get a couple more bantams to show this summer. I recently joined a poultry 4H club as well to learn more about chickens and to start showing. I also have a lot of other animals that I love talking about! I have an Arabian horse that I show hunt seat and saddle seat in 4H and open shows as well as a Chihuahua and 7 cats.

I've already learned a few things by lurking around on the forums but I hope to start posting soon!

I also have a chihuahau named Zoe! She gets frantic whenever my little ladies are outside of the coop...aaack! I mean she gets so wound-up I have to keep her on her leash or she wants to get into the run! That problem will be solved as soon as I get their permanent run built, but in the mean time...holey moley!

4-H is a wonderful way to learn and get into showing! I was part of 4-H when I was younger. Lots of fun like minded friends to hang out with and learn lots of great stuff!!
