When I wrote my first life's 'To Do' list in my teenage years, one of them was to 'own a chicken'. Chickens have always fascinated me though I didn't have much exposure to them. Now in my early 40's I finally have not one but two! Mind you, they are roosters that my friend couldn't bear to eat or be sent somewhere to be eaten, so they now live in my barn with my 3 horses and have been an interesting addition to our family. One of them spends a lot of time being carried around 'helping' me with my barn chores when he is being naughty - one trick I learnt from BYC and has been working well with this guy.
I have been reading a lot on this forum and learnt a lot. I would like to get some hens this summer. I like in Ontario, Canada with my husband, two kids (6 and 8yrs), 3 horses, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 banty roosters and a tank full of fish on 10 acres.
I'm looking forward to learning more and post my many questions that I have. This has to be one of the friendliest forums that I have attended and this should be fun!
