Welcome to BYC, Mary! You have a gorgeous coop and run. I don't know a lot about Clovis and whether or not you have any predators (Racoons, Opossums, Snakes, Weasels, Rats, etc.) in your area, but if you do, I would suggest covering the exterior of the run and the coop window with 1/2 hardware cloth as these predators can either tear through chicken wire or pass through the openings in the mesh. I know it involves a little extra expense, but it is less expensive than having to replace your flock. You have a nice, mix of breeds. Good luck with your flock.

lf you have questions feel free to ask!

Forgot to add--in your case tearing though chicken wire won't be a problem, but some of these predators could pass through the openings in your wire.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

What an adorable coop! The preferred material over chicken wire is hardware cloth. (it is actually wire) It is very tough stuff and nothing can get thru it. Not even a mouse.

Enjoy all your babies and I hope they continue to bring you great joy. Welcome to our flock!
