I am married, 30 years, and have four grown children and eight grandchildren. I have been a member on here for quite awhile but just got my first chickens on 2/9/19. I wanted to read up as much as I could so I would know what to do when I finally got them. I have three buff orps and three rhode island reds. I love them! I live in a suburban home and have a 15 ft x 23 ft garden. I only have one peach tree but would love to have a pecan tree as well, my husband says no to that. We planted two blackberry bushes last year and hope to have more soon. Soon I will be spreading my gardens all over the back and front yards, hubby doesn't know that yet, I just keep adding little beds and plants in pots. I would like to let my chickens free range as soon as my daughter moves out and takes her outside cat with her, she loves to catch and kills birds so I don't think my chickens would be safe with her. I will be on here reading and asking questions a lot!
