Hi, My name is Margaret and I live in rural Qld Australia and have a number of farm animal, chickens , geese and ducks and two lovely goats.

Welcome to BYC.
I don't have any experience with geese. I've had to take unhatched eggs from hens. They generally snap out of their broody stage in a few days. But, if she isn't eating, I wonder if there is an underlying health issue?
Have you checked her over well, for lice and mites? Was she in good health prior to going broody? What is her age?Is she part of a flock?

Thankyou for replying. I will check her over in the morning. yes she was healthy before she started sitting. She was part of a flock and sided with one of our new boys. She is about 2 years and her first sitting .

Glad your girl seems healthy.

I replied on your other thread, but wanted to also say welcome to BYC, Margaret!

There are lots of folks here with geese, and you may get a more helpful response than mine. In any case, it's good to meet someone else who has all the same kinds of critters as me -- although I also have sheep, dogs and cats.

I need some help with my Female goose who was sitting on a few eggs which have gone rotten. She has been sitting for a long time. First egg experience for her . I removed them and removed the nest. But she now won't eat . She drinks and is looking unwell is she Pining ?
Welcome to BYC!! It sounds like she was broody..

Nice to meet you. I do have cats and my little dog passed ways a few weeks ago she was 12yrear old.

When she was sitting on her eggs did she come out to eat? It's very important they eat when broody. When my goose was broody I made sure she came out daily to eat drink and bathe so she wouldn't get run down.

How long has she not been eating? you might want to consider tube feeding her just to get her to where she feels like eating again.
